| Dr. Tom Marcrom is a 1982 graduate of the University of
Tennessee Doctor of Pharmacy program, having previously received
a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Lipscomb University and
a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Tennessee.
Tom has worked in several community pharmacy practices since graduating,
but began practice with Marcrom's Pharmacy in 1983. He has been
involved with many of the innovative programs of the pharmacy, and
eventually devoted himself full-time to developing a home infusion
practice in 1988. The infusion practice provided intravenous therapies
and enteral nutrition to patients in several counties in Middle
Tennessee, and eventually oxygen and medical equipment sales and
rentals were incorporated into the practice. In 1997, Marcrom's
Homecare was sold to American HomePatient, a national provider,
and Tom remained as general manager of the Manchester and Murfreesboro
offices for four years before returning to the community practice
in 2000 as pharmacy operations manager. Dr. Marcrom has been president
of the District 5 local chapter of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association
for many years, and he has served on several important committees,
including the formulary committee for the statewide Tenncare Program.
Additionally, he serves as a faculty member for the University of
Tennessee College of Pharmacy in educating pharmacy students and
residents. |
