| In cooperation with the American
Pharmaceutical Association, Marcrom's Pharmacy provides a site
for the University of Tennessee Community Pharmacy Residency Program,
which is accredited by ASHP's Commission on Credentialing.
The one year residency consists of project development, professional
activities, and pharmacy practice, which provides extensive advancement
in competency and leadership skills. Residents are also encouraged
make presentations to local/state organizations and to publish original
research and/or review articles in pharmaceutical and medical journals.
Cindy Smith, Pharm.D.,
is the residency coordinator; Ray
Marcrom, Pharm.D., and Richard
Randolph, Pharm.D., are the primary preceptors. The Community
Residency Program at Marcrom's Pharmacy has recently been completed
by students from some of the most prestigious universities in the
nation, such as Mercer University, the University of California
at San Francisco, the University of Kansas, and University of Tennessee.
